Creating an inclusive, respectful environment
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville is dedicated to fostering a welcoming, inclusive campus community that empowers everyone to achieve their highest potential. We believe an institute of higher education is a place where people of different backgrounds can learn together and explore new ideas. These shared experiences significantly enhance personal and educational growth, which not only helps our students excel in the global workforce, but also engage as active, compassionate citizens in their own communities.
The Division of Diversity and Inclusion is made up of a number of services dedicated to supporting this mission:
- Office of Multicultural Student Affairs
- International Programs
- TRIO Student Support Services
- Services for Students with Disabilities
- Wright Center for Non-Traditional and Veteran Students
- Doyle Center for Gender and Sexuality
- Department of Campus Climate
In addition, there are several programs and initiatives hosted within the academic colleges and departments that focus on fostering a diverse environment—both on campus and in the workforce. The nationally-recognized Women in Engineering, Mathematics and Science Program builds a supportive community where women can prosper, and creates a more diverse, competitive, and balanced workforce.
