How to Register for Courses

Here are the steps to guide you through the registration process each semester you are at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.

Be ready on the first day of class! If at any time you have questions, please contact your advisor; they are a great resource.

Step 1: Review your program plan to determine the course(s) you want to register for. If you have questions about course content or when courses are being offered, you can view the undergraduate course offerings and graduate course offerings.

Step 2: Log in to PASS and remove your Registration Agreement Hold. This hold will be listed in your Task tile each semester.

Step 3: Register for your course(s). You will receive a confirmation email in your UW-Platteville account within 24 hours after you have successfully registered.

If you have additional holds on your account, are completing a registration that requires a permission number, or receive an enrollment error, you can reach out to your advisor for assistance.

Step 4: Submit payment for your course(s) by the deadline. To determine the payment deadline, please see the academic calendars.

Step 5: Prepare for the start of courses.

  • Order your textbooks.
You must have your textbook(s) before courses start. Textbook costs are not included in tuition and fees. Financial aid is not disbursed until after the start of classes, so you will have to pay for your textbooks out of pocket, and then reimburse yourself once your financial aid is disbursed.
  • Monitor your UW-Platteville email account.
Be sure to monitor your UW-Platteville email account. Important information regarding your courses will be sent here.
  • Log in to your course during Preview Week.
You will have access to your online course(s) one week prior to the start date. This is an opportunity to become familiar with your course, review the syllabus and course calendar, and plan ahead for the semester.
  • Complete your participation policy activity.
You must complete an academically-related activity for your courses in order to remain enrolled. This is a requirement to remain enrolled, in compliance with federal regulations. Please check your courses and email for the activity and the due date for each course.
