The word "honors" has two different meanings at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. High-achieving students are recognized at graduation, and throughout their career at UW-Platteville.

Graduating with Honors

Students earning 48 or more credits at UW-Platteville, and who earn high curriculum grade point averages during their undergraduate years, graduate in two categories:

  • Honors, GPA 3.50-3.74, magna cum laude
  • High Honors, GPA 3.75-4.00, summa cum laude

All students graduating with honors must earn 32 credits in residence at UW-Platteville, and 23 of their last 32 credits in residence.

Chancellor's and Dean's Honor Rolls

The chancellor and each college dean will award honors at the end of each semester based on your performance during that semester. Each of those offices have their own credit and grade point requirements for eligibility.

To qualify for Chancellor’s or Dean’s Honors, you must complete at least 12 credits during the semester and meet the grade point average requirements.
