High School Mathematics Contest

UW-Platteville will be holding a High School Mathematics Contest on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. Registration will be open until Fall 2026. If you would like to receive more information about the contest and registration, please email math@uwplatt.edu.

Contest Participants 

Approximately 731 students from 36 high schools in Southwestern Wisconsin, Eastern Iowa, and Northern Illinois formed 67 teams and participated in the 2025 contest. Teams were divided by high school enrollments.

• Division I participating schools included Des Moines, Dubuque Hempstead, Iowa City, Verona, and Western Dubuque.
• Division II participating schools included Center Point-Urbana, Dodgeville, Evansville, Monroe, Platteville, Portage, Viroqua, Dubuque Wahlert Catholic, and West Salem.
• Division III participating schools included Belleville, Bellevue, Cashton, Cochrane-Fountain City, Dakota, Darlington, Kohler, Lancaster, Mineral Point, New Glarus, Poynette, and Stanley-Boyd.
• Division IV participating schools included Albany, Argyle, Belmont, Kickapoo, LaFarge, Marquette Catholic, Monticello, Pecatonica, River Ridge, and Wauzeka-Steuben.

Previous Contest Results

In 2025, plaques were awarded to the top three schools in each division, and an All-Academic Team was selected to honor individual contestants. The All-Academic Team members received medals and t-shirts. Plaque winners included:

• Division 1: Iowa City West Gold, Des Moines Central Academy 1, Dubuque Hempstead
• Division 2: Monroe Red, Platteville, West Salem
• Division 3: Kohler 1, Lancaster, Poynette
• Division 4: River Ridge, Pecatonica Varsity, Marquette Catholic
