High School Mathematics Contest
UW-Platteville will be holding a virtual High School Math Contest on Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2021. Registration will be open until October 18, 2021. If you would like to receive more information about the contest and registration, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The contest recognizes outstanding high school students and stimulates mathematical interest at the high school level. Students can participate as teams or individuals.
Approximately 730 students from 35 high schools in Southwestern Wisconsin, Eastern Iowa, and Northwestern Illinois formed 59 teams and participated in the 2019 contest. Teams were divided by high school enrollments.
- Division I participating schools included Des Moines Central Academy and Junior Academy, Dubuque Hempstead, Iowa City West, and Verona.
- Division II participating schools included Baraboo, Clinton, Dodgeville, Monroe, Platteville, Portage, Prairie du Chien, River Valley, Wahlert, and West Salem.
- Division III participating schools included Beckman, Belleville, Bellevue, Cochrane-Fountain City, East Dubuque, Lancaster, Mineral Point, New Glarus, Stanley-Boyd, Viroqua and Westby.
- Division IV participating schools included Albany, Cashton, Ithaca, Juda, Kickapoo, Monticello, Pecatonica, River Ridge (IL), River Ridge (WI), and Wonewoc Center.
Previous Contest Results
In 2019, plaques were awarded to the top three schools in each division and an All-Academic Team was selected to honor individual contestants. The All-Academic Team members received medals and t-shirts. Plaque winners included:
