High School Mathematics Contest

UW-Platteville will be holding a High School Mathematics Contest on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. Registration will be open until October 15, 2025. If you would like to receive more information about the contest and registration, please email math@uwplatt.edu.

Contest Participants 

Approximately 550 students from 31 high schools in Southwestern Wisconsin, Eastern Iowa, and Northwestern Illinois formed 50 teams and participated in the 2024 contest. Teams were divided by high school enrollments.

• Division I participating schools included Des Moines Central Academy, Dubuque Hempstead, Iowa City West, and Verona.
• Division II participating schools included Dodgeville, Monroe, Platteville, Portage, Viroqua, Wahlert Catholic, Center Point-Urbana, and West Salem.
• Division III participating schools included Belleville, Bellevue, Dakota, Mineral Point, New Glarus, Cashton, Cochrane-Fountain City, Darlington, Aquinas, and Poynette.
• Division IV participating schools included Albany, Brookwood, Kickapoo, Marquette Catholic (Bellevue), Monticello, River Ridge, La Farge, Belmont, and Wauzeka-Steuben.

Previous Contest Results

In 2024, plaques were awarded to the top three schools in each division, and an All-Academic Team was selected to honor individual contestants. The All-Academic Team members received medals and t-shirts. Plaque winners included:

• Division 1: Iowa City West, Des Moines Central Academy 1, Dubuque Hempstead
• Division 2: Monroe Red, Platteville, West Salem
• Division 3: Poynette, New Glarus 1, Mineral Point Blue
• Division 4: Marquette Catholic, Barneveld Golden Ratio Eagles, Kickapoo
