Electric Vehicle Charging Station
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville now has a level 2 electric vehicle (EV) charging station available for guests and campus users.
As the only public, high-power charging station in Platteville, this station was an important step in making the UW-Platteville campus accessible to campus users and guests who drive electric vehicles.
Why Drive an Electric Vehicle?
Electric vehicles support the UW-Platteville’s commitment to sustainability through their reduction of emissions that contribute to climate change and smog.
Charging an EV with electricity provided by renewable energy, such as solar or wind, minimizes these emissions even more. The electricity on the UW-Platteville campus comes from a mix of fossil fuels and renewable sources.
Located in Parking lot 33, this charging station has two 80 AMP chargers, each with J-1772 plugs.
The charging station is available for free; we only ask that drivers move their vehicles once the charge is complete so that the station is available for other users. Violators will be towed at the owner’s expense.
