Eligibility

Eligibility requirements vary by program, but in general, UW-Platteville students must:

  • Have completed at least one full-time semester
  • Have sophomore standing (24 credits) at time of participation
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.25*
  • Be in good academic and disciplinary standing
  • Complete all application requirements by the deadline

Things to Consider When Choosing a Program

Each student has their own wants, needs, and goals to consider when selecting an education abroad program.

Consider:

  • Why this country?
  • Is it significant to your major?
  • Is it safe and accessible?

Academics

  • Will courses fulfill degree requirements?
  • Who will you take classes with?

Length

  • What duration fits your schedule and finances?

Cost

  • What is included?
  • What are out-of-pocket costs?
  • What scholarships are available?

Support Level

  • Do you prefer independence or structured support?
  • Is there on-site staff?
