At UW-Platteville, we strive to make the transition to college as seamless as possible. Throughout your New Student Experience, we will introduce you to all the tools, knowledge, and support you’ll need for the semesters ahead, including registering for classes for your first semester.
Orientation Activities
We look forward to welcoming all new students (including first-year students and transfer students) to participate in our Platteville Orientation Day on January 22, 2027. View the orientation schedule below.
During their Platteville Orientation Day, all new students will:
- Connect with members of their campus community, including other incoming students, current students, and faculty and staff.
- Learn more about resources that will support their success in their first semester and through graduation.
Up to two guests for each new student are encouraged to attend Platteville Orientation with their student. Alongside their new UW-Platteville student, guests will learn about campus resources and how to support their student.
Orientation Schedule
Advising and Registration
We know that students are excited to register for their classes for their first semester! Our faculty and academic advisors are dedicated to making this experience positive for all students.
Students starting at UW-Platteville in Spring 2027 will receive an email from an academic advisor inviting them to schedule an advising and registration appointment. Students will then register for their Spring 2027 classes during that appointment.
Students will receive information about how to access their UW-Platteville email later in the New Student Experience. Once they have access to that account, they should check it frequently to ensure they make their advising appointment in a timely manner.
