SUCCEED Summer Bridge Program
Aug. 13–Sept. 1, 2023
The SUCCEED Summer Bridge Program is a residential summer program that starts three weeks before classes. Students will get a jump start on becoming college students. Also included during the program are math workshops, writing skill enhancement workshops, and a variety of other opportunities to help students prepare and adjust to college life. While attending SUCCEED, students will live on-campus in the same residence hall they will be living in for the academic year. Housing, food, and activity costs for the program are covered by the institution.
UW-Platteville’s SUCCEED program is designed to give you an opportunity to:
- Get a head start on some fall academic courses
- Become familiar with the campus and resources
- Build friendships with fellow students
- Move into your residence hall early
- Pick up your textbooks early
- Learn valuable skills (e.g., note-taking strategies, study tips, test-taking hints)
- Leadership curriculum to develop a personal culture of success
- Opportunity to earn a scholarship upon completion of the program
During the three-week program, SUCCEED participants start a minimum of two academic fall courses early. In addition, participants attend sessions designed to improve reading, writing, and math skills. Outside of the classroom, SUCCEED participants will enjoy multiple educational and social activities to enhance their university experience and meet new people.
Please note the tuition for the coursework is included in the regular fall tuition; during the SUCCEED Program participants' housing, meals, and SUCCEED activities are free.
The SUCCEED program begins on Sunday, Aug. 13, 2023, and ends on Friday, Sept. 1, 2023. SUCCEED participants will join the other new incoming freshman students on Sept. 5, 2023, for the UW-Platteville Welcome Weekend activities. Time commitments are not flexible during this program; you must attend all programs and activities during the entire three weeks.
