UW-Platteville’s elementary education program will help you gain the skills necessary to positively influence students’ intellectual growth and overall capabilities. Elementary education, along with a minor in early childhood, will prepare you to teach infants, toddler and preschool programs, and kindergarten through sixth grade.
You’ll complete teaching courses, along with courses in a specialty field of foreign language, music, art, theatre, physical education, technology, agriculture or special education. Field experience in student teaching allows you to apply your knowledge and skills to support student learning in child care centers and schools.
In addition to teaching, coursework will prepare you for a career as a director for a children's center, Head Start program, and family education programs.
