In addition to welcoming several new members in 2022, the Distance Education Alumni Board elected new officers earlier this year. The alumni board represents the Distance Education Alumni Chapter of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Alumni Association.
Taking over as board president is Mark Sidote. Sidote earned his Master of Science in Project Management in spring 2016. He has been an active member of the alumni community since his graduation and joined the board in 2021. Sidote resides in Virginia.
Shilo Wilkinson was elected vice president. Wilkinson is from Colorado and has served on the alumni board for several years and helped with various board initiatives, including increasing engagement and awareness, reviewing scholarship applications, and the virtual 5K event. Wilkinson also received a Master of Science in Project Management in spring 2016. She and Sidote both attended commencement in person on the UW-Platteville campus. After meeting online in their classes, it was their first time seeing each other face-to-face. In addition to her role on the Distance Education Alumni Board, Wilkinson serves on the university’s Alumni Association Board of Directors.
New member and recent graduate Dilan Perera was elected board secretary. Perera graduated with a Master of Science in Project Management in summer 2021. Perera is from British Columbia, Canada, and traveled to campus for the fall 2021 commencement ceremony.
Other board members include Joe Roy, Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice ’14, Master of Science in Criminal Justice ’16; Mitch Farrey, Master of Science in Project Management ’11; Kristin Carroll, Master of Science in Criminal Justice ’12; William Yang, Master of Science in Project Management ’17; Sherri Pirie-Harmon, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration ’85; Jonathan Yancy, Master of Science in Organizational Change Leadership ’21; Laura Lamere, Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences ’21; AJ Wright, Master of Science in Distance Education Leadership ’20; Jason Leinss, Master of Science in Project Management ’21; and Hope Dymond, Master of Science in Criminal Justice ’21.
