(Past) Behind the Scenes of the Interstate 80/380 System Interchange Reconstruction Project
Join us for the fall Engineering Seminar Series as Hugh Holak, P.E., Resident Construction Engineer, with the Iowa Department of Transportation presents Behind the Scenes of the Interstate 80/380 System Interchange Reconstruction Project.
Located near Coralville and Iowa City, Iowa, the Interstate 80/380 interchange is a vital link in the Iowa transportation system. To accommodate growth and forecasted increases in traffic, the Interstate 80/380 System Interchange Reconstruction project allows more vehicles to travel safely and reliably through the area, reducing traffic congestion and crashes. This seminar will provide a behind-the-sciences overview of the project needs, planning, design, and construction. We will also discuss end stages of project delivery, considerations for traffic handling for construction, staging, incident management and constructability issues.
