(Past) Considerations for Design and Construction of Community Storm Shelters

Presenters: Tim Tranel, P.E., and Nick Schneider, P.E., Origin Design
This seminar will discuss the latest model building code requirements for design and construction of community storm shelters. The evaluating areas of existing buildings for wind hazard protection will also be presented.

About the presenters
Tim Tranel, P.E., is a Structural Engineer and Vice President at Origin Design. Tim has over 31 years of experience designing and managing structural and architectural building projects for his industrial, municipal and commercial clients.
Nick Schneider, P.E., is a Structural Engineer and Project Manager at Origin Design. Nick has 15 years of experience designing both industrial and commercial facilities, including experience in storm shelter design.
Both speakers are proud alumni of UW-Platteville.
