The student budget, or Cost of Attendance, is designed to provide an estimated projection of the overall costs that you will encounter while attending UW-Platteville. It includes tuition and fees, housing and meals, supplies, transportation, and miscellaneous expenses. These figures are estimates used to determine your eligibility for financial aid. Actual expenses may vary.

Cost of Attendance is created depending on several factors:

  • Student’s state of legal residence (Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Non-Resident)
  • Type of degree seeking (Associate, Bachelor’s, Master’s)
  • Number of credits enrolled (full-time, half-time, less than half-time)
  • Housing while attending (on campus, off campus, with a parent)

Wondering what your family might actually pay? Our net price calculator provides an estimate by subtracting UW-Platteville's automatically awarded grants and scholarships from the Cost of Attendance. Estimate your costs and financial aid options.

Direct and Indirect Costs

Cost of Attendance includes both direct and indirect costs. Direct costs are billed to your account from the university, like tuition and fees, on-campus housing, and meal plans. Indirect costs are not billed to your account but are expenses that you may incur while attending UW-Platteville, such as supplies, transportation, miscellaneous personal expenses, and housing and meals if you live off campus.

For students enrolled for less than half-time, the COA may only include tuition and fees, books and supplies, and transportation.
