The Dairy Science program at UW-Platteville prepares students to join this dynamic and growing industry. With a curriculum that mixes scientific theory with hands-on learning, our students gain valuable knowledge and employable skills.
With UW-Platteville's fully-functioning 430-acre livestock and feed farm and award-winning dairy judging and dairy challenge teams, graduates can expect to find jobs on farms or with companies working with dairy animals daily as herdsmen, nutritionists, reproductive technologists, or as consultants for dairy processing plants. Our graduates also are sought after for their exceptional laboratory skills to work as quality assurance specialists or lab technicians.
The UW-Platteville major in dairy science started in fall 2016. Now, there are 60 students in the major, and it is still growing! To learn more about the program, review the checksheets for the dairy science major, minor, and double major in agribusiness and dairy science.
