University Counseling Services provides confidential, short-term counseling to assist with personal, developmental, or psychological concerns related to educational progress and personal growth. There is no charge for counseling because our services are paid through tuition and fees.

Any UW-Platteville student is eligible to make an appointment with us. To make an appointment, call 608.342.1865 or stop by the front desk at Counseling Services located on the 2nd floor of Royce Hall.

We provide services that include individual counseling, couples counseling (both have to be registered students), group counseling, crisis intervention, and information and education regarding prevention of alcohol or drug abuse.  We also provide classroom presentations, residence hall programs, and self-help resources.

Our services address areas that include academic motivation, anxiety, alcohol and drug abuse, behavioral change, decision-making, depression, domestic or dating violence, eating disorders, family problems, gender identity, goal setting, grief and loss, loneliness, physical disability, relationship issues, self-esteem, sexual abuse, sexual assault, sexuality, stress management and relaxation, study skills and time management, and test anxiety.
