Parking

When attending an event at the Center for the Arts, please allow sufficient time for traffic and parking. The main parking lot is to the west of the building (Parking Lot #1). Parking is free Monday - Friday after 4:00 p.m. and on the weekends. There is no parking allowed between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. all year long, including breaks.

Parking permits are required Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. during the academic year. Parking permits are available through the campus parking app.

There is a circle drive at the Main Street entrance for dropping off and picking up. Please do not park in the circle drive as it is both a fire lane and a stop for the campus shuttle system. Vehicles left unattended in the circle drive are subject to ticketing and towing.

Winter Weather

While the weather outside might be frightful, our performances are always delightful. As long as the university remains open, we do too. In inclement weather, please check www.uwplatt.edu or listen to local radio stations for the status of events on campus.

Inside the CFA

The lobby lights will flash to signal the impending start of a performance. Once inside the concert hall or theatre, the lights will dim to signal the beginning of the performance. Talking, unwrapping cellophane-wrapped candies/cough drops, and other disruptive behaviors are distracting and disrespectful to the performers and the rest of the audience. Please remain in your seat until the show has ended and the house lights have been turned on.

Latecomers

Persons arriving late to a performance will be seated at a break in the performance, such as applause at the end of a piece or during an intermission. Please ask the house staff for help if you arrive after the start of a performance.

Cameras, Recording Equipment, Cell Phones, and Pagers

Cameras and recording equipment are strictly prohibited in the concert hall and theatre unless otherwise indicated. Please leave these items in your vehicle. Cell phones and pagers must be in the silent mode or turned off. Please do not text during the performance.

Accessibility Services and Disabilities

For complete information on wheelchair seating, please contact the house staff upon arrival. To request other disability accommodations, please contact the University Box Office at 608.342.1298.  We appreciate as much lead time as possible to ensure a timely response.

Smoking

By Wisconsin State Statute 101.123, the Center for the Arts is a smoke-free facility. When smoking outside the CFA, please step at least 20 feet away from the entrance doors. Signs in the lobby will indicate if smoking, haze, or fog is used as part of a performance. Please see the house staff if you are unable to attend a performance due to the use of these items.

Concessions

Concessions may be available. Bottled water is allowed inside the concert hall and theatre.

What to Wear

Some people enjoy dressing up for a performance while others feel more comfortable in jeans. Feel free to make your own clothing choices, but remember that shirts and shoes are required at all times in the building. Also, we ask that you be considerate of those who have allergies to perfumes and ask that you refrain from wearing fragrances to a performance.
