Roger G Kerkenbush

Professor Kerkenbush earned his B.B.A. in Management Information Systems at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater where he also earned his M.S. in Accounting. Before coming to UW-Platteville, Professor Kerkenbush taught at Loras College, and also served as Associate Dean for Accounting and Finance programs at Waukesha County Technical College.  He has an interest in international economic and finance issues, and is a strong advocate for students studying abroad.  He has led students to both Germany and Ireland where he also taught.  In addition, he received a Fulbright award to study teaching and learning in the Czech Republic.

Professor Kerkenbush previously worked in industry in the areas of corporate finance, financial services, and management consulting. His work has included being the chief accountant for an international hedge fund, serving as the Deputy Fiscal Officer of the Milwaukee County pension, and as the Chief Financial Officer of an information technology consulting company. He is a licensed CPA and has serves as both an author and reviewer of CPA exam questions for the AICPA.

In addition to his interest in international economic and finance issues, his research interests are in sports finance and student teaching and learning.  His student focus has him always looking for new an innovative approaches to bring in to the classroom to aid student learning.
