Piano Festival

The UW-Platteville Piano Festival is a biennial two-day celebration of piano performance and learning, offering a unique opportunity for young pianists, UW-Platteville piano students, local teachers, and community members to come together through music. Held in our beautiful Brodbeck Concert Hall, featuring a Steinway Concert D, the festival provides participants with a 45-minute individual lesson, the chance to perform in a recital, and the opportunity to take part in an interactive Q&A session with guest pianists and artists. All lessons are open for public observation, allowing students and teachers alike to gain insight into teaching approaches and performance interpretation.

Friday, Sept. 18 at 6 p.m. - Guest Artist Recital: Dr. Tanya Gabrielian

Hailed by the London Times as "a pianist of powerful physical and imaginative muscle," Tanya Gabrielian has captivated audiences worldwide with her gripping performances. She has performed on five continents in acclaimed venues including Carnegie Hall in New York, Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., Sydney Opera House, Queen Elizabeth Hall and Wigmore Hall in London, and the Salle Cortot in Paris, with such orchestras as the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, and Boston Pops.
