Call for Entries: The UW-Platteville Alumni Art Exhibition 2026
The Harry and Laura Nohr Gallery at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville is excited to announce its call for entries for the UW-Platteville Alumni Art Exhibition. The exhibition will be on display at the Nohr Gallery from October 26–December 11, 2026, and will be juried by the faculty and staff of the UW-Platteville art program and the staff of the Nohr Gallery.
Eligibility
• Participants must be a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, be 18 years or over and reside in the United States of America.
• Work in all media will be considered.
• Submissions must have been created within the past two years from the date it is submitted to the show.
• All work must be ready to hang or display. Special hanging instructions will be considered but cannot be ensured.
• Work could be sold during the show upon discretion of the artist by the paperwork turn in date. The gallery retains a 40% commission on all sales.
• Artworks should be original creations made without the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and made in compliance with U.S. copyright law. Please see the sections outlined below for more information.
Submission Format
Participants may submit up to three artworks to the jury. All submissions to the UW-Platteville Alumni Art Exhibition should be made via email to the Nohr Gallery at nohr_gallery@uwplatt.edu by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2026.
Digital images of the artwork should be labeled with the artist's last name, underscore, initial of first name, underscore, and entry number and must be .jpg format 300dpi and a maximum size of 2000px in its longest dimension.

Within your submission, please include:
• A reference list of information about the piece submitted. Include the title of the artwork, when it was created, the medium(s) used, dimensions of the work, a rough estimate of weight, and price if selling the work
• Your name, graduation year, and degree earned
• An artist statement
• An artist biography
Artificial Intelligence
The UW-Platteville Alumni Art Exhibition does not accept artwork created or significantly modified using generative AI tools (e.g., image generators, text-to-image software). Any submission found to incorporate generative AI will be disqualified and removed from the exhibition, even if previously accepted. Artists are responsible for ensuring their work is entirely original and free from AI-generated content.
Copyright Compliance
All submitted work must comply with U.S. copyright law, including fair use guidelines. Artwork that includes copyrighted material without proper authorization or that does not meet fair use standards will not be accepted. Artists may be asked to provide documentation or clarification regarding source materials if concerns arise.
Artwork Acceptance and Delivery
Artists will be notified of their acceptance into this show via email by Monday, September 28, 2026. Upon acceptance by the jury, work should be arranged to be dropped off at the Nohr Gallery or mailed to the Nohr Gallery at the address below. Mailed artwork must include a pre-paid mailing label within the package to return the work in case it is not sold during the exhibition. All work must arrive no later than Wednesday, October 14, 2026. A gallery reception will be held on Friday, November 14 from 3–4:30 p.m.

If artwork is dropped off directly, any unsold work remaining at the gallery after the exhibition period should be picked up by the artist by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2026.

The Harry and Laura Nohr Gallery provides high quality cultural and educational opportunities in the visual arts, free of charge, to the students, faculty, and staff of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, and the people of Platteville and the Southwestern Wisconsin region. The facility provides students from the campus and people of the greater Southwestern Wisconsin region the opportunity to view works of foremost artists and institutions reflecting current trends, traditional art forms, works of diversity, and issues of cultural significance.
