(Past) Pioneer Pantry Open Hours
Pioneer Pantry is a free pantry/grocery service on campus for students experiencing food insecurity. Food insecurity is a lack of consistent access to enough food for an active, nourishing lifestyle. All currently enrolled UW-Platteville students are eligible to utilize Pioneer Pantry.
Here are some things to remember about utilizing the pantry that can help keep a welcoming environment and ensure everyone has the same opportunity to find support from it.
-
You must bring your Campus Card to use the pantry, and we ask that you swipe it so we may keep track of visits and peak usage times. Your personal information is protected; all data is reported in aggregate with no unique identifying information attached.
-
Pantry users are allowed to visit the pantry once per week.
-
Bags are not provided, you must bring your own.
-
Pantry users are limited to one bag per visit. If you feel you are in need of more food, please email pioneerprovisions@uwplatt.edu.
-
Please follow LIMIT signs; it ensures our donations and funds can help support as many students as possible who use the pantry.
-
If you aren't able to utilize the pantry during our open hours or feel more comfortable visiting alone, you may set up an appointment to visit by emailing pioneerprovisions@uwplatt.edu.
-
Pantry hours for the Fall semester are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 3:00-6:00 PM.
Pioneer Provisions is managed by a student organization called Pioneer Pantry and includes the many volunteers who share their time and resources to ensure the pantry runs smoothly, is stocked to support your nutrition needs, and sees to it that pantry decisions are made by those who utilize and support it. Find Pioneer Pantry on PioneerLink and let us know if you would like to get involved.
