The UW-Women in Criminal Justice (UW-WICJ) Mentoring Program is hosting a hands on and recruiting event at the Madison Police Training Center in Madison, WI on Thursday, April 25th starting at 3:45PM.  This event is sponsored by the Madison Police Department and the Madison Community Policing Foundation and is open to mentees and mentors participating in the UW-WICJ mentoring program. Invite only-Qualtrics survey registration is required. 

The UW-WICJ Mentoring Program hands on event will include three rotations of tactics, crime scene processing, and virtual reality active shooter simulation.  

The Madison Police Department and Dane County Sheriff's office will be on hand with recruiting information.  

Food will be provided by the Madison Community Policing Foundation and the Madison Police Department Mental Health Officers will be presenting during dinner. 

Event Details:

3:45 PM – Registration

4:00 PM – Introductions and house keeping

4:10 PM – Round 1 (Tactics, VR, Crime Scene)

4:55 PM – Move to Round 2

5:00 PM– Round 2

5:45 PM– Dinner and full group presentation on mental health

6:25 PM – Move to Round 3

6:30 PM – Round 3

7:15 PM – Closing and release

UW-Platteville will have a car-pool option available for their students upon request.  If you need a ride, please indicate you need a ride on the registration form.  We will be leaving at 2 PM on April 25th from the circle outside of Ullsvik Hall.
