(Past) Film Screening: "The Right to Read"
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville School of Education and WI Reads have partnered to host a free screening of the film The Right to Read. This event is open to the public.
When a child can't read, their chances of incarceration, homelessness, and unemployment increase. That's why Oakland-based NAACP activist Kareem Weaver believes literacy is one of the greatest civil rights issues of our time and is fighting for better reading instructions.
Date: Thursday, Nov. 9
Time: 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
