(Past) Midwest Choral Artists Concert

The Midwest Choral Artists are proud to present “Beyond Living, Beyond Dying” an eclectic vocal performance featuring traditional canon, contemporary choral works, and multicultural voices.

Co-directed by Dr. Bob Demaree and Jason Troxel, the Midwest Choral Artists are a 32-member ensemble composed of musicians from across Central Wisconsin.

Inspired by a line of poetry by Sara Teasdale, “Beyond Living, Beyond Dying,” this performance incorporates themes of conflict and resolution and includes pieces by composter Jocelyn Hagen, female blues artist Dale Trumbore, music from composer Johannes Brahms, a selection from the musical “Pippin,” and an arrangement by Eric Whitacre of Trent Reznor’s “Hurt.”

This performance will offer a preview into the Midwest Choral Artists’ premiere performance at the highly selective Wisconsin Choral Directors Association conference this Winter, and it will also take place on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at 3 p.m. within the Trinity Lutheran Church, 1904 Winnebago Street in Madison, Wisconsin.

Admission to the Saturday, October 7 and the Sunday, October 8 concerts are free, but freewill offering will be accepted.

Date: Saturday, Oct. 7
Time: 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
