Abby Goodhall is a senior music education major with emphases in instrumental, choral, and general music, as well as non-teaching for both trombone and voice. Raised in Kenosha, Wisconsin, her love for singing began when she was around 7 years old. It wasn’t until her sophomore year of high school that she joined a mixed choir and began to deeply grow her passion for singing. She has been a part of a variety of ensembles at UW-Platteville including Chamber Choir, University Singers, Coro D’Angeli, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Jazz 1, Marching Pioneers, Symphony Orchestra, Pioneer Jazz Orchestra, Low Brass Ensemble, and Basketball Band. Throughout her experience on campus, Goodhall has been awarded honors such as drum major of the Marching Pioneers, four-time Honors Recital recipient, and Symphonic Wind Ensemble’s Conducting Competition winner. Additionally, she has had the opportunity to be a student conductor for numerous ensembles including University Band, University Singers, and Chamber Choir, as well as be an intern with the Platteville Children’s Choir. She is currently working as a music librarian and a music tutor on campus, and held the position of music director in her female-identifying music fraternity Sigma Alpha Iota for two years. Other awards and affiliations include induction into Phi Kappa Phi and appearances every semester on the Chancellor’s list.
