Campus Climate Podcast Club

Campus Climate Podcast Club
Where: Zoom
Begins: Dec. 02, 2020 at 12:00 pm
Ends: Dec. 02, 2020 at 1:00 pm

The Department of Campus Climate is trying something new this fall! We are launching a Podcast Club!

The Podcast Club will be offered this fall in lieu of the annual book club typically offered campus-wide. This program will operate much like a book club discussion group; participants will be expected to listen to the podcast prior to the designated meeting times. Campus Climate staff will lead dialogue around topics and themes presented in the podcast episodes. Our hope is that this program will provide a more accessible way to engage virtually with one another.

We have chosen to select episodes from the podcast, Code Switch. Code Switch is a podcast produced by NPR (National Public Radio) and is described on their website:

"...It's the fearless conversations about race that you've been waiting for! Hosted by journalists of color, our podcast tackles the subject of race head-on. We explore how it impacts every part of society — from politics and pop culture to history, sports and everything in between. This podcast makes ALL OF US part of the conversation — because we're all part of the story."

Along with podcast episodes, we will also provide a complimentary article for those who enjoy reading more than listening.

We recognize these episodes won't and can't cover everything however, our intention is to provide an space to continue to engage in conversations about race, identity, and intersectionality.
