On this page, you will find a brief introduction to the Appeals process. We have also compiled a list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to help you understand academic probations and dismissals.

What are academic appeals and when are they necessary?

Academic appeals is the process that previously enrolled students at UW-Platteville must go through if they have been academically dismissed and wish to return prior to their specified dismissal timeframe.

Who can appeal their academic dismissal?

Any student that has been dismissed reserves the right to appeal that decision to the Admissions and Academic Appeals Committee (AAAC). Typically, students that appeal feel that they have extenuating circumstances surrounding their dismissal. Please keep in mind that submitting an appeal does not guarantee approval or reinstatement.

When are Admission and Academic Appeals held?

The Admissions and Academic Appeals Committee meets in January, June, July, and August. Specific dates are listed on the academic calendar and are included in the appeal instructions sent to students following a dismissal.
