CASA Program (Host Family Program)

Resuming Program Fall 2023

The CASA Program: Community Ambassadors for Students from Abroad is designed to encourage interaction between UW-Platteville's international students and the Platteville/tri-state community. This program will allow students and community members to explore the tri-state area together, share each other's culture, and discover a new friend.

The International Club, open to both U.S. and international students,  educates and promotes global understanding through learning about different cultures, having fun, and organizing international programs, events, and activities. Register on PioneerLink under "International Club."

International Student Orientation Leaders

Apply to be an International Student Orientation Leader for the next International Student Orientation! Orientation Leaders will help the new international students move in to their dorm rooms, give campus tours, participate in social activities, and serve as a resource for the students during their first few days at UW-Platteville.

International Night

International Night is an event organized by the International Student Club that has taken place on the UW-Platteville campus for over 50 years. Currently, International Night takes place once per year during the spring semester.

International Student Advisory Board

International Student Advisory Board

The International Student Advisory Board (ISAB) gives international students the opportunity to provide advice and feedback to the International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) office on issues that are important to the international student population and that impact the international student experience at UW-Platteville. The board will be composed of up to six undergraduate and graduate international students from different programs and countries who apply and are accepted to ISAB.

Conversation Partner Program

Conversation Partner Program

The Conversation Partner program involves groups of 2-3 people in which at least one participant is a non-native speaker of English and at least one participant is a native speaker of English. Conversation partners meet at least once per week during the semester at UW-Platteville and speak in English and learn about each other's culture through conversation.

Cross Cultural Conversations

Cross Cultural Conversations

Cross Cultural Conversations is an informal gathering of international and U.S. students, faculty, and staff that occurs monthly. Participants are invited to engage in conversations that work to promote an understanding of different cultural backgrounds. No sign up is required. International Student Farewell Reception

International Student Farewell Reception is an event organized by the International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) office to celebrate international student graduates. International Student Farewell Reception takes place once per semester during the academic year.
