Survivors of Suicide (S.O.S.) Support Group - You may feel alone. You are not. If you have been affected by suicide support and information is available at the Mound City Bank Motor Branch facility 90 S Second St., Platteville on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 7-9 p.m. There is no fee to attend just a great group of people to offer the support you've been looking for.
Attention Students, faculty, and staff! Join us for the Zen Zone Open House Friday, March 27 - 11 am-2 pm 221 Royce Hall Enjoy refreshments and wellness activities in the Counseling Services Conference Room. Free chair massages (compliments of CPR) are also available for students, (we encourage you to visit the Counseling Services front office prior to the event to reserve a time for your massage).
STOMP OUT STIGMA - Inspired by campaigns to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health treatment, University Counseling Services created a Stomp Out Stigma campaign. Because 1 in 4 college students experience mental health concerns we believe there is no place for stigma on college campuses. Watch videos (right) as members of our campus community courageously talk about why they think it is important to get help when needed. Your support creates a healthy environment where it is ok to talk about mental health.
University Counseling Services (UCS) is the primary source of mental health counseling for students on the University of Wisconsin-Platteville campus. Confidential, short-term counseling is provided to assist students with personal, social, developmental, academic, or career concerns related to their education progress, personal growth, and general well-being.
Counseling Services staff are available to faculty and staff for consultation on a variety of mental health topics. We offer written resources, programs or presentations upon request. We welcome the opportunity to share information with your classes, departments, or organizations about the services we provide to campus. If you have a disability and desire accommodation, please advise us of your request as far in advance as possible by calling Deirdre Dalsing 608-342-1865.
