Counseling is available to university community AFFECTED BY THE tornado

Counseling Services will continue to be available to support faculty, staff and students impacted by the tornado on 6/16/14 through the months of June and July.  The center will be closed from 7/3/14 through 7/11/14.   Starting 6/30/14 appointments will be necessary due to the fact there is only one staff in the office during the summer.  Any questions or concerns should be sent to Deirdre Dalsing, Director of Counseling Services at 342-1865 or

STOMP OUT STIGMA - Inspired by campaigns to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health treatment, University Counseling Services created a Stomp Out Stigma campaign. Because 1 in 4 college students experience mental health concerns we believe there is no place for stigma on college campuses. Watch the videos (above right) of members of our campus community who courageously talk about why they think it is important to get help when needed. Your support creates a healthy environment where it is ok to talk about mental health.

University Counseling Services (UCS) is the primary source of mental health counseling for students on the University of Wisconsin-Platteville campus.  Confidential, short-term counseling is provided to assist students with personal, social, developmental, academic, or career concerns related to their education progress, personal growth, and general well-being.
Counseling Services staff are available to faculty and staff for consultation on a variety of mental health topics.  We offer written resources, programs or presentations upon request.   We welcome the opportunity to share information with your classes, departments, or organizations about the services we provide to campus.

If you have a disability and desire accommodation, please advise us of your request as far in advance as possible by calling 608-342-1865.
