SUPPORT GROUP FOR THOSE WHO WERE ON CAMPUS DURING THE JUNE 16, 2014 TORNADO - If you were on campus during the tornado and you continue to experience stress or anxiety associated with this experience please join us on Wednesday, December 17th, at 4:00 p.m. in the Bridgeway Commons Multipurpose room. University Counseling Services Counselor Peggy Hines and Resident Director Alisha Slowey will be available to facilitate an informal support group and provide a safe place to talk and interact with others who were also affected by the storms.
STOMP OUT STIGMA - Inspired by campaigns to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health treatment, University Counseling Services created a Stomp Out Stigma campaign. Because 1 in 4 college students experience mental health concerns we believe there is no place for stigma on college campuses. Watch videos (right) as members of our campus community courageously talk about why they think it is important to get help when needed. Your support creates a healthy environment where it is ok to talk about mental health.

University Counseling Services (UCS) is the primary source of mental health counseling for students on the University of Wisconsin-Platteville campus. Confidential, short-term counseling is provided to assist students with personal, social, developmental, academic, or career concerns related to their education progress, personal growth, and general well-being.
Counseling Services staff are available to faculty and staff for consultation on a variety of mental health topics. We offer written resources, programs or presentations upon request. We welcome the opportunity to share information with your classes, departments, or organizations about the services we provide to campus.
If you have a disability and desire accommodation, please advise us of your request as far in advance as possible by calling 608-342-1865.
