Prepare for the growing field of podiatry will introductory coursework with the UW-Platteville Department of Biology. You’ll be introduced to tools and methods for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases and disorders affecting the human foot and ankle. Podiatrists also treat patients with foot and ankle conditions caused by chronic conditions such as diabetes or obesity.

Our pre-podiatry program is designed to meet admission requirements for entrance into a School of Podiatric Medicine. The Doctor of Podiatric Medicine will take another four years of school. This is followed by a three-year Podiatric Medical and Surgical Residency.

Outside the classroom, you can build on your experience through student clubs and organizations, or undergraduate research to help you build a competitive application for your advanced schooling application. Plus, we offer a wide variety of campus support programs like STEM Living and Learning Communities, mentoring, and others that allows you to create a student experience unique to you and your goals.
