What You'll Learn in the Health Education Minor
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville is one of just a couple of programs in the UW System that offers a Health Education program as a minor, which will allow you to stand out as you launch your teaching career or pursue a career in another field. The health education minor is only available to students with a major in health and human performance with an emphasis in physical education teaching. The minor in health education includes coursework in sex education, alcohol and drug prevention, wellness, nutrition, and health-related topics.
With a minor in health education and a bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Performance with an emphasis in physical education teaching, career opportunities can include:
- K-12 health educator
- Health counselor
- Community health specialist
- Health and wellness program director
