Jieya Yang

With a passion for contributing to civil and environmental engineering education, Dr. Yang teaches courses for infrastructure, environmental engineering and transportation engineering emphases to provide a well-rounded understanding of civil engineering to undergraduate students. Throughout her academic research, Dr. Yang focuses on assessing hurricane evacuation and transportation accessibility to shelters in rural areas. Models integrate evacuation traffic analysis and spatial accessibility analysis with storm surge simulations, considering factors like hurricane track uncertainty and sea level rise.
