Professional Background
Alison Thompson has been involved in higher education for the past 13 years, working as an instructional designer and online faculty member for various colleges and universities. Mostly recently, Thompson was the Lead Instructional Designer at Northeast Iowa Community College, where she also served as the Learning Management System Administrator and was instrumental in implementing a college-wide outcomes and assessment project. Thompson joined the Center for Distance Learning in 2017. In her position, she provides instructional design and support to faculty to facilitate the development of educational materials for delivery in an online environment.

Alison lives in Iowa with her husband and three daughters. She enjoys reading, biking, and spending time with her family and friends.
