W. Doyle St.John

Dr. St.John earned his PhD in Physics and Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma State University, and his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Tulsa University. His master's thesis work focused on electrical noise in avalanche photodiodes and his doctoral work was in experimental nonlinear optics, particularly nonlinear effects associated with high power laser propagation through semiconductors.

Prior to joining UW-Platteville, Dr. St.John worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Liquid Crystal Institute located on the Kent State University campus. The focus of the research was developing novel cholesteric flat panel displays. He has previously worked at AlliedSignal, Motorola, Frontier Engineering, and InterView Technologies.
