About
Dr. Mamunur Rahman is an Assistant Professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Wisconsin–Platteville. His research focuses on healthcare, supply chain management, transportation, and process improvement, with an emphasis on applying machine learning, computer simulation, and optimization techniques.
Dr. Rahman was a key contributor to the Deep Dive Assessment Report on the Electric Grid and High Voltage Direct Current Supply Chain (HVDC SC), prepared for the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Electricity and Advanced Manufacturing Office in response to the President Biden’s Executive Order 14017 on America’s Supply Chains.
He has published extensively in leading journals and international conferences in his field, including contributions to two book chapters. His research has been recognized with multiple honors, including the Best Paper Award at the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE) Annual Conference (2019) and a Best Paper Finalist designation at the Computational Social Science Society of the Americas Annual Conference (2018).
Dr. Rahman's expertise extends beyond academia, having worked for several Fortune 500 companies in supply chain and manufacturing roles. Additionally, he was the lead developer of several software applications, such as Comprehensive Manufacturing Assessment Tool (CMAT) and PyEmission, during his tenure at Idaho National Laboratory.
