Biography

About

Dr. Mamunur Rahman is an Assistant Professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Dr. Rahman's research interests include Supply Chain (SC) resilience, green logistics, and process improvement using computer simulation, optimization, and machine learning. He was one of the key contributors to the deep dive assessment report on the electric grid and High Voltage Direct Current Supply Chain (HVDC SC) for the Office of Electricity and Advanced Manufacturing Office in response to the President's Executive Order 14017 on America’s Supply Chains. 

Furthermore, Dr. Rahman has published 17 scientific articles in renowned journals and conferences, including two book chapters. His research papers have received recognition, with best paper awards at conferences such as the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers annual conference in 2019, and the Computational Social Science Society of the Americas annual conference in 2018.

Dr. Rahman's expertise extends beyond academia, having worked for several Fortune 500 companies in supply chain and manufacturing roles. Additionally, he was the lead developer of several software applications, such as Comprehensive Manufacturing Assessment Tool (CMAT) and PyEmission, during his time at Idaho National Laboratory.
