Professor Anguru K Premadasa

I am a Mathematics Professor at the University of Wisconsin- Platteville Baraboo Sauk County, and I have fourteen years of college teaching experience in the US. I have been the recipient of three statewide teaching excellence awards, the most prestigious being the University of Wisconsin System Regents' teaching excellence award in 2018, awarded to only two faculty members yearly in the entire state of Wisconsin. I have also received recognition for conducting and coordinating undergraduate research projects  I was also the recipient of the Alliant Energy James R. Underkofler teaching excellence award in 2013. In 2012, I was selected out of the twelve campuses of the UW-Colleges system to receive the Chancellor's award for teaching excellence. The US state department has also recognized me as a Fulbright specialist for my training abilities in professional development. My research areas are mathematical optimization and The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, and I have more than ten peer-reviewed publications and more than thirty-five conference presentations. In addition, I have held several leadership positions statewide ( and international )where I provided professional development to college teachers. My other leadership positions include being the chair of the Mathematical Association of America's Wisconsin chapter and the Vice-Chair of UW-Colleges mathematics department, which integrated 12 Campuses throughout WI. I can genuinely say that I have changed the lives of my students. My vision is to continue changing student lives through teaching and help enhance the college teaching profession through professional development.
