Professional Background
Before making the transition to higher education ten years ago, Grant Patient held positions such as: juvenile justice program manager for non-profit social services institution Teaching Family Homes; special investigator for federal background investigation firm for USIS; regional supervisor and corporate investigator for CDW Corporation; and numerous loss prevention management positions within various retail companies.
He currently serves as the co-advisor for the Criminal Justice Association at UW-Platteville, and teaches a full course load while advising for the Criminal Justice Department. He is also a member of InfraGard, a collaborative organization between federal law enforcement and private organizations combatting cybercrimes.
Patient has instructed many online courses and has learned that giving distance students well-written, thought-provoking questions is crucial for student learning, engagement, and interaction.
