Professional Background:
Dr. Nicole Lopez Purkapile is currently the Executive Director for Families and Schools Together (FAST). Nicole comes with a wealth of experience with many years in South Florida's early care and education community including but not limited to quality rating systems, data analysis, project management, and the science of implementation.
Nicole was born in New York and moved to South Florida at the age of five. She’s been working in the early care and education field for more than 19 years, primarily in the non-profit sector. She started her career in 1994 with an early care and education facility in South Florida. Several years later she moved on to the non-profit side, working with federally funded programs including but not limited to block grant-funded programs. Through the years Nicole has worked with agencies that have managed school readiness services, Head Start and Migrant Head Start programs, child welfare, ECE professional development, and ECE databases. Finally leading up to Quality Rating Improvement Systems, Nicole has increased responsibility with systemic growth and redesign, including but not limited to oversight and collaboration of system performance databases, budget management and forecasting, programmatic metrics and measures, professional development, and contract management. She values community partnerships and has an excellent reputation as a highly-skilled, collaborative, open, passionate, and curious leader.
