Biography

About

I received both my B.A. and Ph.D. in the field of philosophy: Bryn Mawr College for the undergraduate degree and The University of Pennsylvania for my doctoral degree (1989). Over the years I have taught a wide variety of courses in the history of philosophy (ancient and modern), as well as in applied philosophy and ethics such as biomedical ethics, business ethics, social, political, legal philosophies, and feminist philosophy. One could say that I am generalist and continually pursue new areas of study, research, and writing. I have enjoyed teaching students of different backgrounds and geographical areas. Before coming to UW-Platteville in fall 2001, I taught as a part-time adjunct instructor at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville (1990-2001), and as a part-time instructor for the College of General Studies at the University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia), along with the usual graduate student teaching (1982-1989).
