Biography

About

Kenneth Katz received his BS in Engineering Mechanics and MS in Mechanical Engineering from University of Wisconsin - Madison.  His graduate research was in cryogenics, the engineering of substances at temperatures below those at which air gases freeze or liquefy.  His thesis involved design and testing of a component used for refrigeration of space-based research instruments that operate at temperatures between 2 Kelvin and 50 millikelvin.  He has a keen interest in undergraduate teaching, and has also taught ancient and medieval political and religious history at UW - Madison and Concordia University, Montreal.
