Biography

About

Elizabeth Holden has been teaching physics at UW-Platteville since 2010.

She earned her Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Physics, as well as a minor in Women's Studies, from Northern Illinois University. Her thesis research was with the astrophysics group at Fermilab studying the accuracy of the photometric redshift of galaxy clusters.

Prior to joining UW-Platteville, Holden taught at Madison Area Technical College and Edgewood College. In addition to teaching physics at UW-Platteville she also teaches a general education social science course, Women in Science and Engineering. She also leads short term study abroad programs on the history of science and technology in Europe.

In her non-academic life, she co-owns a tour company, Leaping Hound Travel, with her husband, UW-Platteville history professor Adam Stanley.
