Biography

About

Mr. David Heimerdinger is an Assistant Professor of Agricultural Engineering Technology and Manufacturing Technology Management in the School of Agriculture at the University of Wisconsin (UW)-Platteville. He earned his Master of Science degree in Industrial Technology Management with an emphasis in Technology Education and Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Education both from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.

Heimerdinger joined the School of Agriculture in August 2020 after teaching for 15 years in the Industrial Studies department.  He currently teaches in both the School of Agriculture as well as the Industrial Studies department.  His current courses in the School of Agriculture include Engines and Tractor Systems (AGET 3830), Electrical Applications in Agriculture (AGET 3850), Soil and Water Conservation Engineering (AGET 3950), Machinery Engineering and Management (AGET 4690), Materials Handling and Energy Seminar (AGET 4790), and Structures and Environmental Control (AGET 4890).  He also teaches Electrical Power (INDUSTDY 4030) and Industrial Design for Production (INDUSTDY 3950) for the Industrial Studies department.

Prior to joining the School of Agriculture, he served as a lecturer in the Industrial Studies department where he taught several different courses in the manufacturing management and industrial controls area.  These courses included Quality Assurance, Power Systems Technology, 3D Industrial Production Drafting, and Fluid Power and Servo Systems to name a few.  From the Fall of 2011 till joining the School of Agriculture, he served as the Program Coordinator for the Master of Science in Integrated Supply Chain Management.  He had also served as the chair of the Industrial Studies department from 2008-2011.

Heimerdinger lives in Platteville with his wife and three children. He enjoys fishing and spending time with family.  He comes from a farming background in Pearl City, Illinois where his parents still farm.  He enjoys the opportunity to return to the home farm on weekends to assist with the family operation.
