Press release issued 11/11/20:

UW-Platteville Richland will offer free COVID-19 testing to area residents, ages five years and older, on Wednesdays from Nov. 18-Dec. 16. Participants do not need to be students or employees of the university.

The rapid antigen testing from Abbott BinaxNOW delivers results in as little as 15 minutes. Tests will be available by appointment at the Classroom Building on the UW-Platteville Richland campus. Testing hours are 9 a.m.-3 p.m. each Wednesday. Appointments can be made online at doineedacovid19test.com, and confirmations should be printed and brought to the testing site. Assistance is available for those unable to print at home.

The testing site is fully accessible. Those unable to walk to the Classroom Building may enter the West or Central Parking lot and approach the disabled parking spaces by Melvill Hall. Vehicles may then proceed along the marked path through campus, and park by the testing site.

A PCR test will be available to confirm a positive result from the BinaxNOW test. Both will be available free of charge. PCR test results will be sent via email after 3-5 days.

Participants are not required to have experienced COVID-19 symptoms or have been a close contact of someone who has already tested positive for COVID-19. Residents from outside Richland County are also permitted to register for testing.
