The University of Wisconsin-Platteville is partnering with Rent College Pads, an off-campus marketplace and search engine for students navigating their housing options. The UW-Platteville Off-Campus Marketplace helps students with rental resources, including connecting with landlords, off-campus pricing, finding roommates and subleasing options.
“We are looking forward to all of the benefits to students that the partnership with Rent College Pads will provide,” said Lisa Kratz, director of the Markee Pioneer Student Center. “The many new features offered through the platform will help students take their off-campus search process to the next level, while providing tools that will enhance relationships with our landlord partners.”
The online tool includes renter education video and quiz modules to help students understand how to review a lease and how to select a roommate. The platform features a roommate and sublease finder along with a roommate matching program. The roommate matching and rooms for rent are provided in a secure environment, protected by NetID login.
“The College Pads platform helps students make safe, informed renting decisions because all of the verified housing options are in one place,” said Rent College Pads CEO, Dominic Anzalone. “Looking for housing used to be such a chore with driving around writing down phone numbers. Now all the listings are in one spot that students can trust.”
Listings on the site are purchased by landlords who use their custom login to manage their listings. Landlords noncompliant with university policy are removed from the site.
Rent College Pads’ software is used at other institutions across the UW System and country.
