A group of UW-Platteville instructors exchanged ideas with other Universities of Wisconsin faculty during the system's annual Faculty College retreat this past spring.

The 46th annual retreat, held at the Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin in May, brought together faculty and academic staff from the state's 13 Universities of Wisconsin institutions. Participants spent four days reflecting on teaching and learning, exchanging ideas and exploring innovative approaches to supporting student success.

Entitled "Co-Creating Healthy Learning Ecosystems," the retreat featured guest facilitators Dr. Mays Imad from Connecticut College and Dr. Bryan Dewsbury from Florida International University. Their book, The Norton Guide to Equity-Minded Teaching, provided the framework for discussions on creating inclusive spaces within education.

UW-Platteville attendees included Drs. Danny Xiao and Kamil Can (Jon) Bora from the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Science; Drs. Mehdi Rasouli Ghahroudi, Shravya Dharba and Xinghui Chen from the College of Business, Industry, Life Science and Agriculture; and Dr. Edina Haslauer from the College of Liberal Arts and Education.

Mela Lewandowski and Sameer Ahmed from UW-Platteville's Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning accompanied the instructors.
