The University of Wisconsin-Platteville School of Education will host the third annual Rural Education Conference and Job Fair on Wednesday, April 16. The conference provides vital conversations and networking opportunities for students, educators and community leaders passionate about the opportunities and challenges facing rural communities.
“We are excited to bring an educational conference to UW-Platteville for students studying education,” said Dr. Lindsay Hollingsworth, professor and associate director of UW-Plateville’s School of Education. “The conference provides an opportunity for students to engage in meaningful professional development and networking opportunities with school district partners and other community members interested in education. Our students are our VIPs; they are at the heart of our work at UW-Platteville. With that said, education is a conversation that many people are interested in, so we certainly welcome everyone to participate.”
The event will take place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Velzy Commons at Ullsvik Hall. It will feature a keynote address by alumni educators Justin and Livia Doyle, a student poster presentation and the Teacher Job Fair. Several school districts will participate in the fair to connect job-seeking educators and students with rural school districts looking to fill vacancies.
