M.S. Organizational Change Leadership program ranked fourth nationally

Best Value Organizational Change Leadership

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville Master of Science in Organizational Change Leadership program is ranked as the fourth best value in the country, according to the 2021 BestValueCollege.org ratings.

The rankings were based on several metrics, including tuition per credit hour, acceptance rate, number of programs offered, and scholarship and funding availability. Best Value College also considered student resources, graduation rate, job placement and total enrollment before settling on a final score for each university.

“The Organizational Change Leadership degree is different because it's applicable in any job in any industry,” said Dr. Caryn Stanley, program coordinator for the M.S. Organizational Change Leadership program.  “All of us experience change. This is one of the only master's degrees that focuses on developing the student as a change leader – as someone who can create positive change through the enhancement of leadership skills and application of change management principles. Being ranked as one of the best values means a high return on investment; you are getting an education at a well-respected not-for-profit institution at a competitive rate.”

The UW-Platteville M.S. Organizational Change Leadership program is intentionally crafted for students seeking to drive positive workplace innovation. The curriculum is focused on teaching students to navigate the shifting dynamics of rapidly changing business environments.

“The program is designed to address our students’ needs as they confront the challenges of the 21st century,” said Professor Michael Sullivan. “The coursework and projects help cultivate change leadership skills, drive positive change, engage cultural transformations, and enable organizational innovation in the workplace. Students explore practical applications of organizational leadership skills and develop expertise in critical thinking, decision-making, communication, conflict resolution and creative problem-solving.”

Students can choose to complete the degree with or without an emphasis area, based on their career goals and needs. Those areas include:

Healthcare: Designed for those who currently work or wish to pursue a career in the ever-changing healthcare industry.

Human Resources: Addresses strategic solutions to changing human resource practices and organizational environments.

Project Management: Enhances a student’s ability to lead change by applying modern project management tools and techniques across the areas of performing, planning, organizing and initiating projects.

Safety Risk Control: Designed for those who currently work or are pursuing career opportunities in safety and risk control.

Depending upon the area of emphasis, the program’s total cost is roughly between $20,000 and $27,000. However, students can reduce the cost with transfer or professional credits. Students can earn their degree in as little as two years.
