Government and business leaders in Dubuque, Iowa, are honoring UW-Platteville as part of their annual Community of Colleges Week next month.

The City Council and the Greater Dubuque Development Corp. issued a proclamation during a meeting July 20 declaring Aug. 3-7 as Community of Colleges Week. The proclamation expressed appreciation for 10 institutions in southwestern Wisconsin and northeastern Iowa, including UW-Platteville and Southwest Wisconsin Technical College.

Students who live and learn in the region enrich neighborhoods, strengthen the talent pipeline and help shape the community’s future, the proclamation said.

“The City of Dubuque expresses its deep appreciation for the contributions of the students, faculty, and staff at each institution and affirms its commitment to fostering an inclusive, welcoming, and opportunity-rich environment for all.”
