The University of Wisconsin-Platteville will hold its Pioneers Day of Giving April 27-28, and members of the UW-Platteville Foundation Board of Directors have pledged to match any gift given throughout those two days, up to $100,000.

“The Foundation Board feels strongly that a matching challenge is timely, given the tremendous impact we have had on the university over the past few years,” said Joe Denk, chair of the Foundation Board of Directors. “Now is the time to celebrate and recognize the Foundation’s impact, increase its donor base and expand engagement. The Foundation and its board members do so much to support UW-Platteville’s students, faculty and staff. This match is a testament to their passion, leadership and dedication to this great university.”

The eighth annual Pioneers Day of Giving spans two days to allow for 1,866 minutes of giving, in honor of the university’s founding year. Typically held each October, this is the first year the event will be held in the spring.

“This $100,000 challenge match provides a wonderful opportunity for our alumni, friends and corporate partners to double their impact,” said Joshua Boots, assistant vice chancellor of Development and Alumni Engagement. “A match of this significance has never happened within the UW-Platteville Foundation. I am thankful for the Board’s innovation and leadership. I am eager to see the excitement and impact this challenge match will have during our Pioneers Day of Giving.”

The university’s goal is to receive 700 gifts from alumni, friends, corporate partners and community members. To support Pioneers Day of Giving, visit go.uwplatt.edu/dayofgiving.
