For more than a century, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville has distinguished itself in the realm of engineering education, cultivating a widely respected reputation in the process. Recently, the university's prestige was bolstered by earning several top rankings from College Factual, an independent data analytics firm based in New York. College Factual's rankings took into consideration more than 20 factors, such as quality, cost, diversity, value and graduate outcomes.
UW-Platteville offers a plethora of pathways for students to earn an engineering degree, including associate and bachelor's programs, as well as a 100% online Master of Science in Engineering program. Dr. Michael A Zampaloni, the coordinator for the master's program, said students are drawn to UW-Platteville in part because of its reputation for excellence and wide array of offerings. In addition, he said students seeking a master's degree appreciate the flexibility offered by the fully online and asynchronous program.
"Our master's program offers the ideal combination of convenience and customization," said Zampaloni. "Because it's online and cost-effective, students can fit their coursework around their career and busy schedule. In addition, the diverse selection of emphasis areas enables students to tailor the degree to their unique needs. Furthermore, its project-based classes allow students to investigate the topics they are most interested in and craft them to match their ambitions."
Those many benefits were highlighted in College Factual's rankings. UW-Platteville's programs were honored dozens of times, including top honors in the following categories:

- Best General Engineering Associate Degree Schools (first of seven)
- Best Value Bachelor's Degree Colleges for Software Engineering in the Great Lakes Region (first of seven)

- Best Value Bachelor's Degree Colleges for Manufacturing Engineering Technology in the Great Lakes Region (first of six)
