UW-Platteville distance education students may request books from our collection. Be sure to select Books and Media UW-Platteville on the dropdown menu from the results list. Requested books from our library will be mailed to you. Please be aware that regular loan periods are in effect and that you are responsible for the cost of shipping for both borrowing from and returning books to Karrmann Library.

If the Karrmann Library does not own a book that you need, please check with your local public library about requesting it through their interlibrary loan service. Working with your local library may result in faster and more direct service.

Articles and Databases

UW-Platteville distance education students have access to over 100 electronic databases to which the Karrmann Library currently subscribes. Many of these databases are in full text for your convenience. Due to certain licensing agreements, a few databases have restricted their access to the local campus or library proper. If the articles are not available, you may utilize our ILL service. If you encounter a broken article link, please notify us via Ask A Librarian.

Read the FAQs about our Find It! service.

For account and password information please e-mail helpdesk@uwplatt.edu or call 608.342.1400.

Resources by Subject

This link groups our electronic resources together by subject or academic discipline. An individual database may be selected from these subject areas. Searching a single database will result in fewer and more relevant hits. Ask your course instructor for recommended databases to meet your assignment or course objectives.

DEPARTMENTS

Interlibrary Loan

If the journal article is not available in full text, UW-Platteville distance education students may request the article to be sent or e-mailed directly to their home. It is possible for you to use the electronic request forms via the Interlibrary Loan's ILLiad software. You will need your username and password to login to your ILLiad account. For this essential login information please e-mail helpdesk@uwplatt.edu or call 608.342.1400.

This ILL service may take anywhere from 7 to 21 days, depending on the availability of the article and location of the holding library. Journal articles are photocopied and mailed (or scanned and e-mailed). They are yours to keep.
